AMARC 10 Global Conference 2010

AMARC announces that the 10th World Congress of Community Radio Broadcasters will be held from 8 to 13 November 2010 in Ciudad de la Plata, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This will be the first Global conference of community broadcasters to be held in South America, where community radios were born 60 years ago.

A NEW COMMUNITY RADIO BOOK IS PUBLISHED

Ayele Eshetu, member of AMARC-Africa and Desta Tesfaw the Director of Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority (EBA) jointly published a new book. This book contained 13 chapters within its 258 pages and written in Amharic, an Ethiopian national language used all over the country. It is focused on the concepts and establishment of community radio and intended for communities who are in the process of starting a CR or for those who are already on air.

AMARC ALC presenta propuesta sobre legislación democrática ante CIDH

La Asociación Mundial de Radios Comunitarias en América Latina y Caribe (AMARC-ALC) presenta ante la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) en Washington, Estados Unidos., los “Principios para un Marco Regulatorio Democrático sobre Radio y TV Comunitaria”. AMARC ALC solicita junto a otras organizaciones civiles que se elabore un estándar en la materia, tomando como insumo principal el documento con los “Principios para un Marco Regulatorio Democrático sobre Radio y TV Comunitaria”.
